Group Entries by day based on start time rather than end time working past midnight

It used to be that when looking at the dashboard by grouped by day if there was a session that was worked past midnight ( for example starting at 10PM and ending at 1AM ) that entry would appear on the previous day. It seems to have switched so that now it always appears on the day based on the end time.

I run into this use case frequently and found the old start time behavior more consistent with how I set up my billing for the week. Any chance this could be a customizable setting or something else I could do?
