Cost/billable rate timeline

Hello. Clockify is great and it solves a lot of our business issues. However I lack one feature that I think might be useful for other as well. The cost/billable rates change in our business and we would like to track that so Clockify would be the sole source of truth about the costs.

Example:

  • We have a time billed project with 1 member
  • Member has 100 as billed rate and 90 as cost rate
  • Project lasts for 6 months
  • Member received increase from 90 to 95 in 5th month of the project
  • Now, we would like to see that he had 90 from 1st to 5th month and 95 for 6th month of the project.

I don’t see any option like that in the API nor UI.

Would it be possible or useful for others?

Hi @konrad,

When setting up the billable/cost rate, you’ll have the option to choose ‘Apply this rate to:’ either for a specific timeframe or for both past and future entries.

If you select a specific timeframe, the previous rates won’t be affected, and the new rate will only apply starting from the date you’ve set.
